Hello, my name is Patti and I am mom to 4 (Jacob -age 10, Joseph- turning 8 next month), Nathan - turning 6 next month and Rebecca - turning 4 next month). Through many twists, turns and unexpected events I find myself entering the realm of homeschooling. As a teacher by certification and profession, I can't say I ever expected to be here, but at the same time I can't say I didn't either. My oldest son is in a position which has forced us to make a change for him. We have decided to pull only him out of school right now because the other three have fantastic teachers and I want to be able to devote myself solely to pulling up my oldest - who is a full grade level behind in school right now. I don't really know any other homeschoolers currently personally. That is why I am glad to find some great forums on the web to visit. I look forward to getting to know you all better.

We are in our third day of our homeschool adventure. So far it is going pretty well. I am still trying to find the best curriculum to use with my son for Language Arts and Social studies. I welcome all advice, suggestions and support.
